Extra Question- Answer
Physics Class-ix C.B.S.E
Answer the following questions:
Q.1) What do you mean by circular motion? Write its salient feature.
Ans. When
an object changes its position from one point to other point with respect to a
fixed point of (center) within a circular path then motion of the object is
called circular motion.
The salient features of circular motion are: -
·
This kind of motion is planer motion.
·
The reference point of the object is always fixed.
·
The position of the object at the different instance of time with
respect to the center of the circla is always same. That is it represents the
radio of circular path.
·
In a circular motion, the direction of motion of a object always changes
and it is represented by the tangent drawn at that certain point of the
location.
Q.2)
What do you mean by uniform circular motion.
Ans- When an object changes equal distance
that is equal angular displacement in equal time interval with in a circular
track then the motion of the object is said to be uniform circular motion.
Q.3) Differentiate
rectilinear and circular motion.

i) The path
traversed by the object is always a straight line. |
i) The path
traversed by the object is always a circle. |

ii) The reference
point of the object is not usally fixed. It can be urbitravelly chosen. |
ii) The reference
point of the object is always fixed. |
|
iii) The direction
of motion is always fixed that is it is unidirectional in nature. |
iii) The direction
of the object is ever changing. That is it changes all the time. |
|
iv) The parameter of
this motion is coordinate to each other. |
iv) The parameter of
this motion is angular in nature. |
